What is Parkinson ’s disease

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that targets brain cells to prevent the production of dopamine (neurotransmitter) that control movement. Parkinson’s disease is a genetic disorder but in few cases it does not seems to run the families. According to available Medical data it shows that Parkinson’s disease (PD) develops around age of 60 or older people.

Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease develops gradually, the symptoms are following;

  • Upper limbs (Hands) and Lower limbs (Legs) become stiff (rigid) and difficult to move
  • Tremor (shaking) hands, arms, legs, jaw and face
  • Drooling
  • Bradykinesia or slowed movement
  • Poor physical balance and coordination
  • Speech impairment
  • Swallowing problem
  • Difficulties with memory or planning, or slowing of thought
